Reviews
I signed up to post this review because I
found the service that I received at Alpine
Lawn Equipment to be great.
I don't know much about lawn mowers and the
big box store that I took it to told me to
throw it in the garbage and buy a new one.
This just didn't seem right, so I did some
research and came across their web site as
the dealer for Toro lawn mowers in
Toronto.
As soon as I got to the store, someone was
there to help me take the lawn mower out of
the car which I thought was great as I was
wearing work clothes and the lawn mower still
had clippings on it from the previous
season.
The lawn mower service technician was Anthony
and he was super friendly and spent a really
long time with me explaining the different
options and helping me decide what to do with
the lawn mower. Ultimately I decided that it
was worth it to get the lawn mower going.
It was really my fault as I didn't properly
winterize the lawn mower and left old gas in
it. I just threw it in the shed and forgot
about it (which I will not do next time).
Anthony explained why the gas created a
varnish inside the carburetor and that there
was certain products that I could use such as
stabilizers to prevent this from happening in
the future.
To make my long story short, I got the lawn
mower back and it works great and I know if I
have any problems I can go right back to
Anthony at Alpine and he will look after it
for me. My biggest frustration with the big
box stores is that they don't care about you
after you buy the lawn mower and just keep
trying to sell you a new one, without telling
you how to prevent problems.
A+ for Alpine if you are in Toronto and need
anything for your lawn mower.
Went in to purchase 3 snow blowers with cash.......Alpine would not cut any type of savings???? Went to competitor and was happy
Just got back from Alpine and they did a great job at fixing my mower. Their store is fully of stuff that I want to buy. Great place to spend a couple hours.
Most sneaky and dishonor trade man I ever met. I was charged 619.00 for a gas line leak and drive adjustment, to replace an entire New Carb (parts only 150.00 ) which costs 59.00 from Briggs & Stratton. Once you send anything in you will never get it back without paying 500 or more and if the estimate is too high, you still have to pay 100.00 to leave! Misfortunate man.
This place has to be the worst store I visited in a long time. They call themselves a family business, the original owners would probably fire the trash they have there now if they knew what they were doing. This place is an absolute rip off, not only is it 10% above every other place but they collect personal information using illegal tactics, such as writing down the name on your credit card into their personal computer without your knowledge or permission. They refused a sale because I didn't give them my home phone number, then they took my credit card and wrote down my name and entered it into their database, keep in mind this is a loser family business with no ethics or privacy controls or any adherence to laws. They are collecting personal information without the customers knowledge. They were idiots already from the moment I called them, but I took a chance and went in anyway, What a disaster, these people should be wiped off the face off scarborough. If you want a stihl dealer go to K. B. or C. C. Avoid this place at all cost. On top of all that, the fat man at the counter lied his face off, he told me his computer wouldn't allow a sale without a phone number, that is complete BS, I know this software and many stores use it and you can bypass or write walk in customer, they refused to do that after tricking me to drive to their store. Too many issues here, dishonesty, rude service, collection of personal information, refusal of sale despite the fact that this is a retail store and the prices are much higher than other dealers. Shame on Stihl for allowing trash like this to carry their name.
